Happy Lunar New Year everyone! I've been so busy with cny that I haven't got the chance to post my first entry. Today I'm showing you how to make a very simple pasta dish, which is also my husband's favorite. Aglio Olio.
Ingredients:
1 cup of pasta of your choice
3-5 stalks of small dried chilli (depending on how much heat you like)
2 cloves of garlic
1 German Pork Sausage (any flavor you like)
salt
black pepper
1 Tbsp of salted butter
oil
Method:
Boil water, add a pinch of salt and a splash of oil into the water and cook the pasta. The oil prevents the pasta from sticking together after it has been cooked and drained. Set aside. In the meantime, mince the garlic cloves, cut the chilli into small slices and cut the sausage bite size slices.
Heat up the pan, melt the butter and oil (Oil prevents the butter from burning). Fry the garlic till they look slightly golden then add the sausages.
After the sausages are golden, add the pasta. The pasta is supposed to look shiny with slight oil coating on the surface, if during cooking you do not see this effect, you may add some more oil. Add the chilli, salt and pepper to achieve the taste you like. Then serve.
This dish takes about 15 to 20mins from preparation to serving. If you are in a hurry, you can try this simple dish. You can also change sausage for other ingredients like bacon, scallops or even prawns!
Hope you enjoy it!
