Lunch for the sister & I while the husband is on reservist

Lunch menu:
Pizza with smoked pork belly, button mushrooms and mozerella cheese
Salad on the side with crispy crackers in vingerette
Cream of pumpkin soup

Tip: Use the a wrap as the pizza base and the result is a crispy thin pizza crust. yums.

Bought a kitchenaid yesteday. Almond cream color since the pink wasnt available for sale.
It was on a good deal of $659 at the mayer sale. Worth my buy and I can finally keep my handheld beater and use this new baby!

What's been up?

Hi all,

Havent been updating recently. oops.
But just to share some of the more interesting things that I have cooked in the past 2 weeks.

 hazelnut choc cupcakes.
 barley with candied melon sticks
 Homemade pancakes + grape jam, with slightly fried ham and poached eggs.
Marshmallow cupcakes!

My first lesson at Sugar Inc!

Made cupcake pops, coffee cupcakes and of cos my first cake:

One fine saturday lunch

Fuscilli with minced beef in cheddar cheese in beef stock and red wine!

It was absolute yums!!

Ok, I dun have a receipe for this cos I jus kinda eyeballed everything.

Ingredients:
Fuscilli
Minced beef
1/2 a cup Red Wine
1/2 a cup Beef Stock
Salt
Pepper
Chedder Cheese
An onion
2 tablespoons of butter
A dash of oil
 
Method:
First, boil the fuscilli in boiling salted water.
Chop up some onions into small tiny cubes.
Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons of butter and a dash of cooking oil, sautee the onions. Do add a bit of salt so that the onions sweat and softens even faster.
Then add in the minced beef, break them up as you pan fry them.
When they look cooked on the surface, add in the red wine and beef stock.
Let the minced beef simmer until the sauce is more or less reduced.
By now your pasta is ready, scoop it over into the pan with all the beef and toss them together.
Then add cheddar cheese over the top and mix them again!
And there you have it!

Mummii's bee hoon

I'm always in love with mom's signature black beehoon and today I decided to cook it myself for the very first time.

Ingredients
1/2 pack of beehoon
1 large can of pork leg
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
3 tablespoon of dark soya sauce

Method
Soak the beenhoon for about 10mins
Boil and debone the can of pork leg
Once the stew is boiling add in the sugar and dark soya sauce
Pour away the water used to soak the beehoon, add the beehoon into the stew
Mix the beehoon and stew until the gravy all dries up and beehoon is done!

Back to cooking!

Apologize that I have not been updating lately, as I just bought a puppy and she needs much attention and care.

Cooked lunch for hubbs and my siblings today:
Steam Spare Ribs in Bean Paste & Plum Sauce
Prawns boiled in Beer & Chicken Stock
Chicken breast cooked with Long beans in Bean Paste and Hua Tian Wine

I'm going to share the recipe of Steam Spare Ribs today

Ingredients
300g of spare ribs (cut in to sections)
3tbsp of minced garlic
100g of tomato (cut into small pieces)

Seasoning
1tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp plum sauce
1 tbsp bean paste
2 red chillis (diced)
1 tbsp corn flour

Method
1. Marinate the spare ribs with seasonings for about 1/2 hour or more
2. Add in the minced garlic and cut tomatoes
3) Steam over medium heat for about 25 min

Simple and Easy!
