where to find tools and ingredients?

As like reading any recipe book, there is always an introduction to the tools and equipments that will come into use while you cook or bake and how to use those tools and equipments. But before we get to that, one should know where these items are available right?

I don't exactly know many places where I can buy cooking tools and equipments (esp baking ones) but generally its safe to say that you can buy affordable basic cookware and bakeware at places like NTUC, Carrefour, Cold Storage etc, basically all big and good supermarkets and electronic stores like Courts or Harvey Norman. If you perfer higher end brands can try Isetan, Tangs and Robinsons.

Now that there's a rough idea where to get the tools and equipments, ingredients should be easier right? Needless to say, everything fresh will come from either the super market or the fresh market. But of cos, depending on what type of cruisine you are cooking, variety of the ingredients can vary depending on where you buy them. Here's a very short list of where you can possibly find better variety of ingredients for that particular type of cruisine:

Chinese - All major supermakets and wet markets
American, Italian, Mexican etc - Cold Storage, Fairprice Finest, Carrefour, Marketplace (Ion)
Thai - Golden mile complex (Beach Road)
Korean - Shine Korea Supermarket (Keypoint, Marina Square), Sol Mart (Square 2), Seoul Mart (Vivo)
Japanese - Isetan, Liang Court (Meidi-ya), Daiso
Indian - Mustafa

Looking to buy baking ingredients poses a bigger challenge to me. I generally buy my ingredients from the supermarkets, however a quick google has surfaced quite a few places good places to buy baking tools and ingredients:

Phoon Huat
Bake King
Bake it Yourself
Kitchen Capers - Block 71, Kallang Bahru #01-531F (Think this is the one my xyy goes to)
Ailin Bakery House - 845 Geylang Road #01-48, Tanjong Katong Complex

Hope the above information has been somewhat useful =D If you have other recommendations, feel free to comment as well. Thanks!
